The European population is aging. Regional governments are concerned with the implications for the future supply of services related to health and wellbeing. The project JADE aims to help older people to live more independently and longer, launching policies oriented towards innovative technologies and services to improve elderly’s life quality.
Through the activities of the JADE project, the research potential of the five regions involved in the project is enhanced by encouraging and supporting the development of regional clusters, including universities, research centers, enterprises and regional authorities. This will enable the regions involved to strengthen the role of research and to invest more and more in advanced technologies, developing innovative clusters at local and regional level, in order to increase their investment capacity and their commitment to research, contributing significant involvement of the success of their operators in European research projects, and thus economic development.
